AEU Industrial Action - OAC Open with modified program

Dear students, parents and client schools,

I am writing to inform you that Open Access College, Marden Campus will be open but providing a modified education program on Thursday 9th November due to a vote for industrial action by members of the Australian Education Union (AEU).

Our Education Director has approved the provision of a modified program on the grounds that the teachers not participating in industrial action are able to proceed with teaching their classes as normal.

Please find attached a list of classes that will be cancelled on Thursday due to teachers participating in the industrial action. Please check the subject codes carefully on this attachment.

Classes cancelled - 9 November 2023

All other classes will run as normal. Year 12 exams (Physics & Accounting) will proceed as scheduled.

Please note absences will be recorded in the usual way for classes that are being taught on Thursday. For classes that are cancelled we will record this as “attendance not required” and it will not count as an absence.

Regular classes will resume on Friday 10th November. Please contact Open Access College if you have any questions regarding this information.
