Who is this course for?

Students who are interested in learning about the role of individuals and communities in understanding and influencing local, national and global civic issues.

What will I learn?

Students learn about:

· The rights and responsibilities of citizens

· The role of communities in government

· The role of the law and the High Court in addressing civic issues

· The role of international law in addressing global issues

How will I be assessed?

Assessment will be based on achievement standards and will consider:

  • your skills of inquiry into complex social issues
  • your communication skills
  • your skills to reflect and evaluate
  • your ability to analyse and problem solve
