OAC student wins many awards

Recently Jean-Louis Hetu, an OAC student, completed his Silver Duke of Edinburgh International Award. He received this award at the Royal Adelaide Show, and Wendy Roberts and Di Whitington attended. Jean-Louis also received a runner up prize for his video entry into the Dukefest Video Competition. Jean-Louis is about to start undertaking his Gold Duke of Edinburgh International Award in September. More information about the awards can be found online.

Jean-Louis is also an avid photographer and model maker. He entered an amazing 37 entries into the Show in a range of categories. He had a stellar year with 21 prizes in those categories. He received 4 prizes for art, two 1st and a 3rd prize in STEM projects. He also received ten 1st prizes, one 2nd prize and three 3rd prizes from 20 photo entries against his aged peers.

One of the pictures that won a 1st prize at the show,  Jean-Louis took while in Canada last year on a trip related to his Award. OAC provided a small grant towards this trip.

He had an article written on his involvement in The Duke of Edinburgh Awards and the Royal Show published in the Advertiser recently.
